    By selling your Wedding Dress you can recuperate up to 70% of its retail value. That’s why it’s important to learn how to set the price right. How much you can get for your dress depends on popularity, condition, age, alterations and dry cleaning. Our advice:
  • List your dress anywhere from 50% – 70% of the retail value for a pre-loved dress less than two years old.
  • Start with an asking price in the range of 40% to 50% of the retail value for dresses older than two years.
  • Adjust the price later if needed. Choose a lower price if you want to sell your dress fast. If you want to change the price of your existing listing you can change it by logging into your account or contacting us.
  • 1. Go to the SELL page and choose a service level that meets your needs.

    2. Fill in the registration form.

    3. Make payment using your credit or debit card. Please note that we do not store your card information.

    4. Fill in the listing form to provide your item’s details. Please provide as much information as possible incl. good imagery and a catchy description.

    5. After submitting your listing form we will verify your listing and publish it.

    If you have chosen our ‘Concierge Service’ we will get back to you within two working days after having received the payment.

    Once your item is listed buyers can get in touch with you and you can work out the sales details with them.
    Listing on Dress Come True only costs you a small, one-time listing fee. If you prefer to let us do the listing, selling, negotiations, trial and/or shipping of the dress please choose our ‘Concierge Service’‘ where a commission applies when the dress is sold, in addition to a small one-time listing fee.
    We have different service levels to meet your needs. Our Essential package allows you to market your dress to thousands of brides across the Middle East, while our ‘Premium’ listing package will further feature your dress to sell it faster. Our ‘Concierge Service’ lets you lean back and enjoy full discretion while we handle everything on your behalf and take all challenges out of the equation.
    For businesses wishing to list multiple items, please visit our sell as a business page and contact us.
    Your dress can be worth up to 70% of its retail price depending on design popularity, its current condition, age and if it has been dry cleaned. For a pre-loved dress less than two years old we suggest to list your dress anywhere from 50% – 70% of the retail price. For dresses older than two years, start with an asking price in the range of 40% to 50% of the retail price. If you feel you need to adjust the price later you can always do so.
    Dresses come in different country and label sizes. To give the bride-to-be the correct size information we prepared a useful Size Conversion Guide. So if your dress is a US 4, for example, you will be able to convert it into UK, Italian or Australian size etc and provide the bride-to-be this information.
    You can list as many dresses or items as you wish. One item per listing. For businesses wishing to list multiple items, please visit our sell as a business page and contact us.
    For wedding dresses choose our ‘Premium’ or ‘Concierge Service’ package where we feature your dress on the site/portal in addition to our social channels. This means it will be seen by a significantly larger audience. For any product, the better photos and description you provide the faster and better it will sell.
    Our homepage gets the most visitors and views and featuring your dress there vastly increases the chances of a quick sale. When listing your dress make sure to choose our ‘Premium’ or ‘Concierge Service’ package to feature your dress on the homepage and enjoy many more benefits.
    When listing your dress or accessory you will be asked to select and upload a few photos of your dress or accessory. Please consult our photo guide. Beautiful photos will help sell your dress faster. We also feature beautiful photos on our social channels, offering you further visibility.

    What if I don’t have photos of my dress or can’t share the photos I have? Please contact us to arrange a photographer for your dress, this is at an extra cost that will be determined based on your requirements.
    Please use your own photos and consult our photo guide. Catalogue pictures are copyright protected & cannot be used.
    It is entirely up to you if you want to offer the buyer a return & refund in case she is not happy with the product. We advise to exchange all necessary information with the buyer before concluding a sale, including a personal inspection and trial of the dress/item by the buyer whenever possible. You are required to disclose any flaws/imperfections to the buyer in full honesty. Failure to do so will result in disputes.
    Until it’s sold. There is no limitation on the duration of listing.
    If you choose to ship a dress or other item the shipment provider will pick it up and ship it for you. This will be arranged by you. If you choose our ‘Premium’ we will support you with your shipment. Or choose our ‘Concierge Service’ where we will take care of everything including shipping at discounted rates, customs & duties and insurance.
    Yes, absolutely. If you prefer to have zero interaction with the buyer and stay completely anonymous, please choose our or ‘Concierge Service’ and let us do all the work.
    How well your dress will sell depends on a few criteria such as brand, condition, year, photos of the dress, silhouette, alterations and price, to name a few. We will do our best to help you find a buyer but cannot guarantee there will be a woman looking for exactly this dress at this price point and with the photos the dress is displayed.
    Depending on the popularity, size, location, price and other attributes of your dress, it may take a few hours, days or up to a few months to sell your dress or accessory.
    We strongly advise to dry clean your dress as soon after the wedding as possible. Not only will it look like new again and sell better but also help its preservation.
    Every listing has to be approved by us. This may take up to two working days but we do our best to publish it earlier.
    It’s up to you if you let the buyer try the dress on. If you are comfortable with it please do as it increases the chances of selling and a happy buyer too.
    We do extensive marketing across the Middle East to make your dress shine. When listing your dress, go for our ‘Premium’ or ‘Concierge Service’ listing to increase the visibility and sell your dress faster.
    Bridal fashion is continuously changing and it’s fair to say that your wedding dress may not be in high demand after some years. The sales price should therefore reflect this.

    SHIPMENT

    Shipping can be done by the seller or by Dress Come True, if the seller choses our ‘Concierge Service’. The shipping costs and any related costs are typically borne by the buyer. Please discuss the shipping and insurance details with the seller.
    The cost depends on the chargeable weight of the item (see next post), destination and shipment provider. In addition to the shipment, fuel surcharges, government levies, customs & duties etc. can occur, especially if it’s an international shipment. We also advise to add insurance. As a seller if you need support with shipment choose our ‘Premium’ service. If you’d like us to handle the entire shipment please choose our ‘Concierge Service’
    Often, wedding dresses are shipped in bulky boxes, which can increase the chargeable weight. It is therefore important to know how the chargeable weight is calculated.

    The chargeable weight can be the actual weight of the box or the dimensional weight, whichever is greater.

    To calculate the dimensional weight in kg calculate Length x Width x Height in cm and divide it by 5,000.

    Example: The actual weight is 5kg. The dimensions are 80cm x 40cm x 15cm. The dimensional weight is therefore (80 x 40 x 15)/5,000 = 9.6 kg. The dimensional weight of 9.6kg is larger than the actual weight of 5kg. The chargeable weight is therefore 9.6kg and this is what you will be charged for.

    Note: Your shipment provider may calculate the chargeable weight differently. Make sure to choose a box that can be shipped as ‘courier’. Ask for the dimensional limits and avoid any ‘freight shipment’.

    Does this sound complicated? Choose our ‘Premium’ service for shipment support. If you’d like us to handle the entire shipment process please choose our ‘Concierge Service’.
    Typically shipping fees are borne by the buyer and paid in addition to the final sales price. Before agreeing on a final price always check how much shipment, customs & duties and insurance cost. Always use registered delivery agencies so that your dress can be tracked and insured.
    If you choose our ‘Concierge Service’’ to sell your wedding dress we will handle everything on your behalf, including pick up by shipment company or in person.
    Import duties and taxes may apply when shipping a dress/accessory from or to another country. This may also be the case for second hand items or items marked as gifts. There may be additional taxes and charges such as sales tax, customs service fees or government levies. These additional costs need to be reflected in the sales price. Please consult your country’s Customs for information on these fees.

    This is the responsibility of the shipment provider. An addition to basic protection (shield service) please insure the shipment. Please consult your shipment provider for this.
    There are multiple shipment providers to choose from. The most known brands are DHL, FedEx, and UPS. Our shipping partner is DHL. Some providers are more suited for domestic shipments while others are better for international shipments. Always use registered delivery agencies so that your dress can be tracked and insured.

    2. When you like an item and would like to know more about it, contact the seller using the ‘Contact Seller’ button.

    3. Exchange all necessary information with the seller directly and make sure you ask all relevant questions.

    4. To purchase an item agree with the seller to a) meet the seller in person, try the dress or accessory on, agree on the final price and pay in cash or b) ask the seller to ship the dress to your door and pay securely through our third-party payment gateway.

    Searching for dresses and accessories is very easy and straightforward. You can start on the Homepage using the search bar or go to the Shop page where you can further narrow down your search criteria using ‘More Filters’.
    It’s crucial to choose a dress your size. Dresses come in different country and label sizes. Too look for and find the right size we prepared this Size Conversion Guide for you.
    Dresses sold on Dress Come True are sold by brides and women like you who are selling a dress/item they have never worn, worn once for a wedding or worn a few times if it’s an evening dress, shoes or accessories.
    It’s between you and the seller to agree on this and arrange it.
    We advise to carefully select the dress/item and to make sure you like the design and that the size is correct. Remember it’s normal to alter the size of the dress for a perfect fit. Please discuss with the seller if she would accept a return in case you didn’t like the dress. Remember that you can always resell the dress on Dress Come True.
    When you search for a dress or accessory you can filter for the location or when you click on a dress you will see the location of the seller. This allows you to find an item near you, meet the seller and try it on.
    Dresses/items sold on Dress Come True are genuine dresses sold by brides and women like you. We advise to do your Due Diligence and to meet the seller in person and inspect the dress/item whenever possible. If a personal inspection is not possible we advise to do your Due Diligence to make an informed decision.
    Closely inspect all the photos and descriptions provided. Consult the designer website etc. Ask for more photos if you need to and ask the seller questions to get all the required information. Meet the seller in person if possible.
    Simply use the ‘Contact Seller’ button on the product page and start your conversation.
    By default all purchases and sales are private. You choose how much data you disclose to the seller. Your data is kept safe and private with us. Please consult our Privacy Policy on how we treat your data.
    Asking prices are determined by sellers without any intervention from Dress Come True and are already at a discount from the retail price. The final price will be determined between you and the seller. To respect the seller and her time, only offer reasonable prices.
    We want Dress Come True to be a safe place for both buyers and sellers. We therefore carefully examine each listing before publishing it and provide our clients with valuable tips and tricks around safety. Should you suspect a listing to be fraudulent or subject to copyright or any other infringement, please report it immediately.

    PAYMENT

    You can pay using your credit card or debit card (subject to country, location and type of card).
    No, there are no costs or fees incurred to the buyer by using our site. If you would like to ship a dress or accessory the shipping costs and any related costs are typically borne by the buyer. This is something you need to agree with the seller.
    You can meet the seller in person and pay in cash. If this is not possible you have the right to request payment via our secure third-party payment gateway PayTabs in addition to other payment options.     No, we do not receive or store any credit or debit card data. Online payments are securely processed through our third-party payment gateway PayTabs. They store data in a highly secure environment. Please consult our Privacy Policy on what data we store and how we treat it.

    To list a wedding dress, evening wear or accessory on Dress Come True, go to our sell page and select your service level of choice. Then click on ‘SELL NOW’. You will be asked to register. This is also your account creation and you can log in and log out any time.
    On the Account/Login Page click on ‘Lost Password’ and follow the instructions to generate a new password.
    If you wish to delete your account please write to hello@dresscometrue.com mentioning your username or email address and that you would like to delete your account.
