How much you can get for your dress depends on popularity, condition, age, alterations and dry cleaning. Our advice:
List your dress anywhere from 50% – 70% of the retail value for a pre-loved dress less than two years old.
Start with an asking price in the range of 40% to 50% of the retail value for dresses older than two years.
Adjust the price later if needed. Choose a lower price if you want to sell your dress fast.
If you want to change the price of your existing listing you can change it by logging into your account or contacting us.

We have different service levels to meet your needs. Our Essential package allows you to market your dress to thousands of brides across the Middle East, while our ‘Premium’ listing package will further feature your dress to sell it faster.

Your dress can be worth up to 70% of its retail price depending on design popularity, its current condition, age and if it has been dry cleaned. For a pre-loved dress less than two years old we suggest to list your dress anywhere from 50% – 70% of the retail price. For dresses older than two years, start with an asking price in the range of 40% to 50% of the retail price. If you feel you need to adjust the price later you can always do so.
Dresses come in different country and label sizes. To give the bride-to-be the correct size information we prepared a useful Size Conversion Guide.
So if your dress is a US 4, for example, you will be able to convert it into UK, Italian or Australian size etc and provide the bride-to-be this information.

It is entirely up to you if you want to offer the buyer a return & refund in case she is not happy with the product. We advise to exchange all necessary information with the buyer before concluding a sale, including a personal inspection and trial of the dress/item by the buyer whenever possible. You are required to disclose any flaws/imperfections to the buyer in full honesty. Failure to do so will result in disputes.
Until it’s sold. There is no limitation on the duration of listing.
If you choose to ship a dress or other item the shipment provider will pick it up and ship it for you. This will be arranged by you. If you choose our ‘Premium’ we will support you with your shipment. Or choose our ‘Concierge Service’ where we will take care of everything including shipping at discounted rates, customs & duties and insurance.
Yes, absolutely. If you prefer to have zero interaction with the buyer and stay completely anonymous, please choose our or ‘Concierge Service’ and let us do all the work.
How well your dress will sell depends on a few criteria such as brand, condition, year, photos of the dress, silhouette, alterations and price, to name a few. We will do our best to help you find a buyer but cannot guarantee there will be a woman looking for exactly this dress at this price point and with the photos the dress is displayed.
Depending on the popularity, size, location, price and other attributes of your dress, it may take a few hours, days or up to a few months to sell your dress or accessory.
We strongly advise to dry clean your dress as soon after the wedding as possible. Not only will it look like new again and sell better but also help its preservation.
Every listing has to be approved by us. This may take up to two working days but we do our best to publish it earlier.
It’s up to you if you let the buyer try the dress on. If you are comfortable with it please do as it increases the chances of selling and a happy buyer too.

SHIPMENT
Shipping can be done by the seller or by Dress Come True, if the seller choses our ‘Concierge Service’. The shipping costs and any related costs are typically borne by the buyer. Please discuss the shipping and insurance details with the seller.
The cost depends on the chargeable weight of the item (see next post), destination and shipment provider. In addition to the shipment, fuel surcharges, government levies, customs & duties etc. can occur, especially if it’s an international shipment. We also advise to add insurance. As a seller if you need support with shipment choose our ‘Premium’ service. If you’d like us to handle the entire shipment please choose our ‘Concierge Service’
Often, wedding dresses are shipped in bulky boxes, which can increase the chargeable weight. It is therefore important to know how the chargeable weight is calculated.
The chargeable weight can be the actual weight of the box or the dimensional weight, whichever is greater.
To calculate the dimensional weight in kg calculate Length x Width x Height in cm and divide it by 5,000.
Example: The actual weight is 5kg. The dimensions are 80cm x 40cm x 15cm. The dimensional weight is therefore (80 x 40 x 15)/5,000 = 9.6 kg. The dimensional weight of 9.6kg is larger than the actual weight of 5kg. The chargeable weight is therefore 9.6kg and this is what you will be charged for.
Note: Your shipment provider may calculate the chargeable weight differently. Make sure to choose a box that can be shipped as ‘courier’. Ask for the dimensional limits and avoid any ‘freight shipment’.

Import duties and taxes may apply when shipping a dress/accessory from or to another country. This may also be the case for second hand items or items marked as gifts. There may be additional taxes and charges such as sales tax, customs service fees or government levies.
